Opportunity
There are a lot of business types and modern amenities we don’t have on Michigan’s Forgotten Coast (yet) and a savvy entrepreneur can find places to carve out a niche for themselves and thrive.
If you want to talk about opportunity, contact us today and let’s start a conversation.
Abundant, inexpensive property
We have so much underused commercial property, it’s easy to find a great spot at a great price and get started on that business you’ve always dreamed about.
Supportive communities
The cities and villages on Michigan’s Forgotten Coast are SO excited when new businesses and industries come here…you’ll feel the love.
Our Chambers of Commerce and active community organizations will welcome you with open arms and help you adapt to your new setting.
Solid infrastructure & public services
One underrated part of Michigan’s Forgotten Coast is the solid infrastructure.
Many communities process their own drinking and waste water.
We have 100’s of miles of active fiber in the ground as well as high speed broadband from cable providers. Learn more about our local fiber broadband providers.
We have transitioned from coal based power plants to wind and solar energy and supply a large amount of energy to other areas.
Most of our communities have their own local police and well equipped fire departments.
We have several rural hospitals & a great healthcare system.
Quality of Life
Of course, this is one of the best things about Michigan’s Forgotten Coast. When you’re not working (you shouldn’t ALWAYS be working) you can stop and enjoy the slowed down, lakeside lifestyle.

Do you want to be a brewer, distiller, vintner, or mazer?
One of the most obvious opportunities on Michigan’s Forgotten Coast is for craft beverage makers. In a metro area you may look down the street and see several craft brewers…we only have a few in our whole region.
Beyond the lack of competition, we have TONS of clean, fresh water, great infrastructure, and affordable commercial property.
You can get your ingredients right here. We’re home to multiple hop farms, barley producers, apiaries, and a huge amount of other farmers with products to use in your brews.
With all of our “good dirt” and fresh water, we’re also a great place to plant your grape vines, apple trees, or whatever you need to produce your own beverage ingredients.
If you’re interested in becoming a craft beverage producer, we have special info just for you here. Or, contact us today…we’re thirsty for some craft beverages and we’re here to help you!
